Den 24. april 1964 blev et american oak cask fragtet ind i warehouse hos The Glenlivet. 50 år senere er dette fad blevet aftappet og fået navnet The Winchester Collection Vintage 1964.

"The journey of this wonderful dram started with Captain Bill Smith-Grant – the last distilling descendent of The Glenlivet’s founder, George Smith, when he set aside the spirit that would become The Winchester Collection in April 1964. Over half a century of unrivalled knowledge, unwavering care and unfaltering craft of no fewer than seven Master Distillers has made this whisky so precious.

In 2014, the man whose name this precious collection bares decided it was time to awaken this whisky from its slumber. In Master Distiller Alan Winchester’s words, “My name is on the bottle but being a modest Scot, I'd like the whisky to do the talking.”
